Deeply committed to Omani society, Khimji Ramdas has actively supported initiatives that contributed to the nation’s wellbeing and development since the company’s inception. To consolidate and give a cohesive focus to these activities Eshraqa, the social development arm of Khimji Ramdas was institutionalized in 2016.
Eshraqa in Arabic means first light – the rays of the sun at dawn and this expresses a new hope or beginning. The initiatives of the organisation have a special focus on Education, Health, Community Wellbeing and Training and special partnerships have been made with various governmental institutions and associations on a not-for-profit basis to enrich the lives of the people of Oman.
Eshraqa projects aim to develop the Omani Community at large, nurture the Omani child, inspire the Omani Youth and empower Omani Women in particular. Its unique approach to CSR is focused on one to two Wilayats at a time for a period of 2 years, to ensure maximum impact. Eshraqa has worked relentlessly in Wilayats of Samail, Bid Bid and Izki from 2016-2019 delivering a variety of equipment and materials to schools, mosques and hospitals in addition to infrastructure expansion. In 2020, Eshraqa will focus on the Wilayat of Ibra.
