KR Shipping facilitates the first Bulk Cargo Career out of Duqm Port

Duqm Port will shortly be handling its first bulk cargo shipment bound for the west coast of India. The 50,000 MT Bulk Dolomite parcel will be loaded on MV Cebihan a 57,000 MT DWT Supramax vessel chartered by International Shipping and Logistics FZE of Dubai.

International Shipping & Logistics (ISL) FZE, UAE are a wholly owned subsidiary of TM International Logistics Limited- TMILL (which is a JV of Tata Steel , NYK & IQ Martrade) . ISL is based in Dubai and is an established ship operating company moving cargoes across various geographies since over a decade.The company carries a wide range of products, which includes fertilizer, clinker, coal, iron ore, limestone, steel, grain, logs, minerals, etc. Ship sizes under ISL's operating fleet varies from 10,000 dwt to Capsizes.

Among various other uses dolomite is used as a concrete aggregate, and a source of magnesium oxide. Where calcite, limestone is uncommon or too costly, dolomite is sometimes used in its place as a flux for the smelting of iron and steel. The cargo will be shipped to Hazira port (India) for Essar Steel which is a global producer of steel. The cargo was sourced from Al Duqm Crushers by Flagstone General Trading LLC and Interface Transworld LLC.

ISL is looking forward to a well- coordinated shipment with the collaborated efforts of Duqm Port and Khimji Ramdas LLC who are ISL's long standing partners in Oman & also part of the established Khimji Ramdas Group in Oman.

ISL CEO, Capt. S.R. Patnaik believes that this market has a huge potential and would be a major commodity for trade in the region, the development of which would make a substantial contribution to the economic growth of Oman.

The support of Duqm Port as well as the perseverance of the exporter made this cargo movement a reality. More shipments are expected in the future as the transportation pattern is often established with the first shipment.
