Khimji Ramdas hosted a reception at the Taj Malabar in Kochi, India, on 16th March 2010 to celebrate the arrival of Jewel of Muscat and her crew in the historic city. His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Al Busaidi, Secretary General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs was the principal guest and other senior officials from the Ministry also attended, including Undersecretary H.E. Mohammed Al Zarafi, H.E. Humaid Al Maani, Ambassador of Oman to India, and the Military and Cultural Attaches from Oman's Embassy in India. H.E Anil Wadhwa, the Ambassador of India to Oman was also present at the reception.
Kanak Khimji, Pankaj Khimji and M.C.Jose represented the senior management of Khimji Ramdas, and dignitaries from Cochin Port Trust, Kerala Tourism, Indian Customs, Indian Immigration, the Indian Coast Guard, the Indian Navy and other government departments also attended the reception.

During the reception Jewel of Muscat was moored just off the Taj Malabar, providing a spectacular backdrop for the evening. The reception included traditional cultural performances by Indian and Omani artists.
