Eshraqa Successfully Conducts Train the Trainer Workshop for Lecturers of Universities and Colleges in Oman

Muscat, 25 August 2019 – Eshraqa, Khimji Ramdas’ social development arm has assisted over 136 Training Professionals from 22 universities and colleges across the Sultanate to motivate and engage their students more effectively. The latest workshop witnessed Eshraqa hosting a three-day ‘Train the Trainer’ program for 12 lecturers from 7 educational institutions. Khimji Training Institute, known for its pedagogy for teaching professionals, executed this pragmatic course under the ILM (Institute of Leadership Management) UK program.

Commenting on the workshop, Nailesh Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas said, “Train the Trainer has been a highly effective program designed to support teachers in creating an inspirational, student-oriented instructional methodology. With the students of Oman being hailed as the leaders of tomorrow, our ideology is to offer constructive and capacity building knowledge sharing programs that will help them embark on this journey. We remain committed to bringing lasting positive change within various sectors within Oman with special emphasis on education.”

Conducted by ILM (UK) Master Facilitator and General Manager of Khimji Training Institute, Nadeem Ahmed; the program was a resounding success. He explained, “This certification demonstrates a trainer’s commitment to professional development and shows them how to adapt their flexible skills to specific training environments. Our primary goal is to facilitate personal growth and higher competency within the teaching cadre in the Sultanate.”

The workshop saw fruition with 12 participants from various major institutions in Oman namely; Sultan Qaboos University, Ibra College of Technology, Majan College, Mazoon College, National University, GUTech, and the College of Applied Sciences Sohar. Participants had the opportunity to understand and recognise various learning styles, undergo practical sessions and create evaluative self-development plans.

Participant Abdullah Hassan Obaid Al Barkhati, lecturer at College of Applied Sciences Sohar expressed his delight with the learning program, he said, “It is extremely necessary to learn and practise different styles of teaching. This 3 day program has given me the fuel and insight to further grow my technique and implement revolutionary changes in my classroom.”

Ameena Talib Al Maaini, lecturer at Majan College added,” I have managed to absorb much of the important information imparted through this course, especially on how to better handle my students and the type of issues they would face on a real time basis. This program is my motivation to help my students to excel in their chosen areas of interest.”

Adding another positive note for the program, Khadija Salim Abdullah Al Balushi, lecturer at National University said, “The ABCD teaching model for writing learning objective will help us not only to measure progress but also observe and be effective in our training sessions.”
