Application for a Job

Q.If I apply for a position advertised, in how much time should I expect an interview call?

You will receive a call or email from us in 15 working days time.

Q.If I apply for a position but do not get called for an interview, will I be contacted?

If you have put in your application against a particular post or a general post you will only be called if you have been found suitable for interview in comparison with other candidates. If found suitable for an interview, you will be contacted. If not contacted you have been unsuccessful on that occasion.

Q.If I am not suitable for a particular job, can my application be used against another vacancy?

Yes, if you have applied for a job, we note on your record that you had been interested in the posted job but were not considered in competition with other applicants. Your profile is recorded against numerous fields. When we search our database for a particular candidate, we search against the same fields so you may be found suitable for another vacancy if you meet the criteria.

Q.On what basis will I not be short-listed for an interview?

If you were not short-listed for an advertised post, you may have not met all the minimum requirements, or candidates with additional, preferred qualifications and experience applied and were short-listed.

Q.Do I get travel fare reimbursement to attend the interview?

Yes, if the interviews are held out of Muscat, and if you are an outstation candidates, you will be reimbursed train fare to & fro. If you are called for an interview to Oman, you will be provided with the air ticket by the company.

Q.What happens to my details if I am not successful?

If your application is not successful, we will retain your details for one year and consider you for future opportunities. You can also apply at any time for other positions. You should update your details after six months (or anytime if your details change) to remain active in our database.

Q.Do I have to wait for an advertisement to apply?

No, you can apply any time, expressing interest in any one of the diverse career opportunities we have within the KR Group.

Q.How do you assess if I am suitable?

Besides the initial assessment of your CV including your experience and qualifications, when we meet you, we assess your “cultural fit” for working within the KR Group and living in Oman, and we assess your technical and behavioral (personal and interpersonal) competencies required to perform well in the position.

Q.How long does it take from the time of the final interview to hear if I am successful or not?

If you are successful, we normally inform you within 4-8 weeks of the final interview. If you are short listed for future positions if any, you will be intimated accordingly. However if you are not successful, you will receive a regret mail from us.

Q.Do I need to include my passport copy, certificates, and other relevant documentation when I send in an application?

Only include one photograph and passport copy if you are applying in response to any advertisement asking for these documents. If you are called for an interview, please bring all certificates, documents and copies with you as you may be asked to provide them.
