The Khimji Ramdas Group has been a long-time supporter of the Itifaq Club as part of continuous efforts to develop young Omani talent in the field of sports. Its longstanding support of the organisation was recently rewarded when the football team decided to carry the KR logo on their official jersey.
“The KR Group has been a strong supporter of sports especially since it aligns with our ideologies of building better communities through developing local talent. As a `people power’ company, driven by humanity and social welfare, we strive to act as enablers of progress and encourage potential whenever we see an opportunity to do so. Our support of the Itifaq Club reflects this philosophy. And it gives us great joy to see the team bear the KR logo as they proceed on to victory,” said Rajive Ahuja, Head, Corporate Communications.
“We are thankful and extremely grateful to the KR Group for their continued assistance and support through various channels. The team has indeed been a fortunate beneficiary of KR’s generosity. We in turn show our appreciation by proudly sporting KR’s company logo on the team’s official jersey. It is but a small token of thanks for their unconditional support,” said Ibrahim bin Saif Rudaini, Vice-Chairman of the Itifaq sports team.
Established in 1972, Itifaq consists of 142 members, 20 per cent (10 players) of whom are KR employees.
The 26-member team participates in local (in Alkhaboora), regional (in the Al Batinah North Governorate) and external matches. The football team partakes in eight tournaments each year; they are also competing in the Al Suwaiq tournament taking place in August and September.
