Muscat: Khimji Ramdas (KR) is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievement of Talib Al Balushi, a dedicated employee of over three decades, who secured a discus-throw gold medal at the fourth edition of the West Asian Para Games 2024 (WAPG) held in Sharjah, UAE from 27 January to 3 February 2024.
Eleven countries participated in the 4th WAPG, represented by 513 members, including 382 players and 131 coaches and administrators, competing in seven sports: weightlifting, table tennis, badminton, goalball, wheelchair basketball, boccia and athletics.
Talib Al Balushi has been a star athlete of the Oman’s Para Athletic Team, winning laurels at various local and regional sporting events. Talib’s success has been a consistent one over the years. This victory underscores his exceptional talent, determination, and commitment to excellence. His gold medal contributed significantly to the stellar performance of the Oman Paralympic Team, which clinched a total of 25 medals during the WAPG games. Talib’s sporting journey started in 2002 at the age of 22. An all-round sportsman, Talib has played and represented the nation in shotput, basketball, discus throw and javelin disciplines. The achievements have been highlighted by his impressive tally of 26 medals, reflecting his. passion to excel at every given endeavor.
